Consumer court is established under The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (CPA) is an Act that provides for effective protection of interests of consumers. Consumers is the backbone for business and economy of its country and in most of the time consumers get cheated by different ways there are many situations happened in every segment of business. - The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (DCDRF):a Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum to be known as the “District Forum” established by the State Government in each district. This consumer court deals with complaints where the value of the goods or services and compensation, if any, claimed is less than twenty lakhs.
- The State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (SCDRC):ADDRESSES OF THE STATE CONSUMER DISPUTE REDRESSAL COMMISSION. Under Section 24-B of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission exercises administrative control over State Commissions.
- The National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDR):Its head office is in New Delhi. The commission is headed by a sitting or retired judge of the Supreme Court of India.complaints where the value of the goods or services and compensation, if any, claimed exceeds rupees one crore; and

Jago Grahak Jago is a consumer awareness programme launched by the Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer , and Public Distributions by the Government of India.As part of this vision, the government has used channels to create consumer awareness through print, media advertisements, audio campaigns and video campaigns for consumer information and education about initiatives like Insurance Ombudsman channel. This program will help the Indian consumers to know about their consumer rights.

- Right to Safety:The right to be informed – to be given the facts needed to make an informed choice, and to be protected against dishonest or misleading advertising and labelling.
- Right to be Informed/Right to Representation:A consumer has also the right that he should be provided with all the information on the basis of which he decides to buy goods or services.
- Right to Choose:The moral or legal entitlement of a pregnant woman to make the full and final decision either to give birth to her child or to abort the fetus.
- Right to be Heard:Right to be heard give a power to consumer they can speak and seller have to head the words of consumer.
- Right to Seek Redressal: Against unfair trade practices or unscrupulous exploitation of consumers. It also includes right to fair settlement of the genuine grievances of the consumer.
- Right to Consumer Education:the right to acquire the knowledge and skill to be an informed consumer throughout life. Ignorance of consumers, particularly of rural consumers, is mainly responsible for their exploitation.
- Right to Basic Needs:which guarantees survival, adequate food, clothing, shelter, health care, education and sanitation
- Right to Healthy Environment:The human right to a healthy environment brings together the environmental dimensions of civil, cultural, economic, political, and social rights, and protects the core elements of the natural environment that enable a life of dignity.
How To File a Consumer Complaint?
Filing a consumer complaint is frequently done by communicating directly with the company itself. Evidence of communication with the company itself, and of their rejection to resolve your complaints, will support your case.

If you are reporting a consumer complaint involving fake business activity, identity theft, or an unfair business training, you should file a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General. Complaints involving the consumer protection division of the OAG are public record. When you file your complaint with the OAG, the Consumer Protection Division will review it, and use the consumer complaints to monitor trends and take action when appropriate and in the public interest. Your complaint should include as much of the information listed above as possible.

A person who buys any goods or services for a consideration, which has been paid or promised or partly paid and partly promised, or under any system of deferred payment also includes the user with approval of such goods or beneficiary of services.

One who makes or manufactures any good or assembles the parts of the products or puts his own mark on the great.
One who provides services; which incorporates the supply of facilities in reference to banking, financing, insurance, transport, processing, supply of electrical or other energy, board or lodging or both, housing construction, entertainment, amusement or the purveying of stories or other information, but doesn’t include the rendering of any service freed from charge or under a contract of private services.
The complaint is often filed under the jurisdiction of the three stated below counting on the quantity of damages sought
- District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum or “District Forum” (in every district): but 20 Lakhs
- State Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum or “State Commission” (in every state): 20 Lakhs to 1 Crore
- National Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum or “National Commission” (in New Delhi): quite 1 Crore
An inquiry must be completed within 90 days and a final report submitted within ten days thereafter. Such report will also be made available to the concerned parties.
The Employer or District Officer is obliged to act on the recommendations within 60 days.
