ISO regularly reviews all standards to confirm they’re up-to-date and still be relevant for the requirements of organizations round the world. The last major revision of ISO 9001 was in 2008. While which may not look like such an extended time ago, the exponential increase within the availability of technology, products, and services for consumers, also because the size and complexity of the worldwide supply chain, have meant that ISO needed to form 9001 meet several new requirements. Customer demands on products and services, and therefore the impact on the brand reputations of these companies which will meet them, grow every day, and ISO 9001 needed to satisfy these enhanced expectations.
